The first one is a very simple ice cream sundae that we make at the restaurant that i work in. We call it a drumstick dish. It is simply custard(or ice cream) with pieces of a waffle cone in it, peanuts, and drenched with chocolate syrup. Really does taste like a drumstick...

another great dessert that we make is a poppyseed torte. We make it in a small pan probably a 9 x 9 pan. Simply crush graham crackers and add butter to it, this will be the crust, i don't really measure the crackers, i just crush enough that it looks like it will cover the bottom of the pan, probably 2 of the packages in the box, butter is probably 1/4 cup.

Spread this in the bottom of your pan after you have sprayed the pan.

The filling is vanilla instant pudding mix, made with milk. Look on the pudding box for the receipe for tortes or pies, the milk is less than you would use for just pudding. Add to the pudding about 1/4 tsp. poppyseeds. Let sit a bit to thicken. Pour in the pudding. On top of this add real whipped cream. Not cool whip, but real cream that you have to mix in a mixer. On top of this sprinkle a bit more of poppyseeds, this torte sells every time i make it in the restaurant!!

Life change

So today is Feb. 7, i haven't posed for about 2 weeks now. It has snowed so much here in Wisconsin that i have only been able to walk outside about 2 times in the past 2 weeks versus 5 times a week b4 that, however, i uped my in house exercising to 30 minutes from 20 minutes before that, so hopefully that will help.

I am going to Las Vegas in mid March and plan on wearing shorts, so today i tried my new shorts on that i bought late last fall and they feel good, not tight, not loose but just right. I do beleive that i have lost some weight, my t-shirts that i wear at the restaurant the size lg. use to be tight on me and now they feel less snug.

I try to load up my plate with salads, fruits, veggies, first and then i tell myself if i am still hungry that i will eat the more fattening stuff, but so far i get full after the good stuff and then i forget about the fattening stuff.

I bought a book off of ebay Eat this not that, haven't received it yet but when i do i will make sure i blog here a little bit about it, it is suppose to be a book on trading foods, like eating thin crust pizza instead of thick crust and saving hundreds of calories on this idea, also maybe putting on all veggies on your pizza instead of meat, 4 pieces of pepperoni are over 100 calories alone!!!! Ouch, i love pepperoni. So when i get it you will know..

How am i doing??

Well an update on my "life change". It has been 22 days now, i don't own a scale so i am just watching how i feel and to see if my clothes are getting bigger, boy i want it now and right now!!!!

I think i have started to like just a bit exercising instead of resenting it. I know this blog is about receipes, but hey, i am talking about food here, just the fact of not eating it versus eating it.

Some interesting things though with food, you can exchange food, what i mean is, i use to love sour cream on my baked potato, now i use fat free ranch dressing instead, there is also cocoa that can be used in some receipes instead of chocolate, and if you don't like fruit, try dipping your fruit into fat free yogurt.

I have been drinking 8 glasses of water a day for the past 22 days now, and i am telling you, my bladder isn't what it use to be. It seems like i am going wee wee alot lately..but i know it is good for me, i use to drink the water but just hated swallowing it like i was forcing myself to drink it which i was, now i just keep a cold glass or mug with me where ever i go and i seem to get it all down..

Anyone else out there struggling with weight issues, i would love to hear from you, usually if you can talk to someone it helps both people out, and i know i could use the help!!

Life Change

Alright, so i started my "diet" on Jan. 1, and i think i am doing pretty well. My pants do feel a bit bigger. I am still exercising, every chance i get, and i have cut my food consumption immensely...I am not starving myself, but i am eating more veggies, and fruits, and yogurt and salads...I do have to say that i do miss sweets, every once in a while i have something...as long as i keep up the exercising and watch mostly what i eat, i should be ok.. It is getting colder and colder here in wisconsin, only in the single digits this coming weekend, but i still walk outside, i just bundle up.

Money Making sites

Ok so here is a few money making sites that i have used/are using..

of course my ebay store...kellyscreativeideas

a great online rebate program...www.bigcrumbs.com please put in referral code kelly53010 (everytime you make an ebay purchase, or a purchase from over 160 other stores, you will get cash back thru paypal, awesome!!)

www.clixsense.com/?2334703 receive money by clicking on ads.. very easy...

www.mysurvey.com referral code kelly53010 get $$$ by answering surveys...

another online rebate program...www.mrrebates.com?refid=243279

another online rebate program...www.ebates.com/rf.do?id=34131417

of course my blogs.. this one and www.recoverykg.blogspot.com

Most of these sites are on my blogs, just click on the links and it will take you to the pages...

Diets??

Ok

So i am addicted to food.. Oh yes, i am...I love to eat, no matter what...So i am reading the Dr. Phil weight loss book(again) and have been trying to lose weight. Not a diet, but a life change. Like so many others, i have probably dieted about 100 times in my life. To no avail, because i feel like i am starving and then i over do it.

So here is what i am doing....I am walking 30 minutes a day 5 days a week, i do aerobics 5 days a week for 20 minutes while i am watching tv and i have been walking more at work..

Also, i am only eating when i am hungry...hmmmm...what a concept, only eating when i am hungry... i use to eat whenever, if i was bored, usually when i was bored, to pass the time of day...now instead i walk away from the kitchen. I ask myself am i hungry and if i am, i eat, if i am not, i find something else to do... To say this is hard is an understatement. I have been habit eating for so long that i don't usually become aware of it until it is gone and inside my stomach....
Habits are hard to break...So it has been 8 days and i have to say, i don't crave sweets like i use to and i do feel better already. I don't own a scale(good for me because in the past i would weigh myself after 2 weeks of "dieting" and when i only lost 2 or 3 pounds, i would say, oh this isn't worth it, and quit) so no weighing myself, i have agreed to just check my clothing to see if it is getting bigger.. I will keep you posted on this subject.....

xmas eve meal

Oh the ribs were just awesome!!!! We recently bought a rotissery for our outdoor grill. We have put on it so far ham, ribs, pork roast, and beef roast. It makes the food taste real good. We are doing a ham tonight for supper, even though we got more snow all day yesterday AGAIN, and it is cold out. I bet it is going to taste awesome, my husband soaks hickory wood chips in water before(a couple of hours) and they he puts them on the bottom by the flame, gives the meat a good flavor.

xmas cookies

ok so here are the other 2 xmas cookie receipes that we made last week.

Almond bark candy

2 pounds white chocolate
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups peanuts
3 cups rice crispies
2 cups miniature marshmellows

melt chocolate and peanut butter together in double boiler. It is so neat. Everyone you invite brings a dozen cookies for each individual participating. If there are 12 people participating, you will need to bring 12 dozen cookies(the same kind) with 12 receipes.
When you leave, you go home with 12 NEW receipes and 12 dozen different cookies. It is a great way to get new receipes and have your holiday baking done in one day!!!

Try it on a Saturday or Sunday in December!!

Christmas chocolate chip cookies

2 1/4 cup unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup crushed candy canes, crushed into almost a powder, no big chunks
1-4 serving package of vanilla instant pudding mix
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 pkg. of chocolate chips

mix flour and baking soda together
combine sugars, butter, pudding mix, and vanilla in large bowl;beat until smooth.
